Fulton Seniors Can Apply for Energy Assistance | | Print | |
Designated facilities will take applications from Fulton County residents for energy assistance The Fulton County Department of Senior Services is collaborating with the Fulton-Atlanta Community Action Authority to accept applications for energy assistance during the cold weather months when energy bills tend to rise. Seniors who are accepted into the program will receive energy bill assistance through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. (LIHEAP) Fulton County seniors who are 60 years old and homebound or 65 and older are eligible to apply for LIHEAP assistance. When applying, seniors must bring photo identification, social security cards for all household members over 18, copies of the heating and electric bills for the previous 30 days, and proof of income for the previous 30 days. Although seniors may file for assistance, they must continue to pay heating bills, and if service has been disconnected, they must call the Fulton Atlanta Community Action Authority at (404) 320-6175. Senior Services has scheduled application acceptance appointments at eight county facilities. Applicants must call Tawanda Everhart at (404)-612-7188 to schedule an appointment. Darnell Senior Multipurpose Facility Southwest Arts Center Aviation Community Cultural Center Helene S.
