Fulton County Commission Chairman Robb Pitts continues to hold Public Meetings to discuss Homestead Exemptions | Print |

 

A Homestead Exemption helps save on property taxes

Fulton County Commission Chairman Robb Pitts has announced five (5) additional public meetings to provide information and assistance to assist homeowners with understanding how a homestead exemption can help save on property taxes. The application deadline to file for a Homestead Exemption is Monday April 2nd.

“I strongly encourage all owner occupied homeowners to attend one of our public meetings,” states Chairman Robb Pitts. “A Homestead exemption is a way for them to save on their property taxes. At our meetings, we give an overview of the application process and provide good information that lists all available exemptions in Fulton County.”

Chairman Pitts, along with staff from the Tax Assessors’ Office, will be at the following public meetings:

Tuesday, March 20th

Wolf Creek Library

3100 Enon Rd., SW, Atlanta, GA 30331

6pm – 8pm

Thursday, March 22nd

Benson Senior Facility

6500 Vernon Woods Dr., Sandy Springs, GA 30328

10am – 12pm

Welcome All Park & Multipurpose Facility

4255 Will Lee Rd., Atlanta, GA 30349

6pm – 8pm

Friday, March 23rd

Helen S. Mills Senior Multipurpose

Town Hall Meeting with State Representative Debra Bazemore (D63)

11:30am -12:30pm

“I know that homeowners will greatly benefit from attending at least one of our meetings,” stated Chairman Pitts. “Our senior homeowners will greatly benefit from attending because they will learn of the various exemptions available for those age 62, 65 and 70. This is an opportunity that no homeowner should miss.”

Since February 26th, Chairman Pitts has addressed homeowners at Town Halls and Public Meetings to discuss homestead exemptions and to provide attendees an opportunity to ask questions concerning exemptions and assessments.
