Fundraising Effort Kicks Off with Badge of Honor Memorial Foundation In Honor of Slain Fulton County Police Detective Terence Green | Print |

Following this week’s murder of Fulton County Police Detective Terence Green, an effort is underway to provide fundraising and support for the Green Family. Detective Green leaves behind four sons, as well as his parents and other family members.

During a press briefing on Wednesday March 4, members of the Board of the Commissioners pledged their support to the Green family and challenged the community to also lend their support.  In honor of Detective Green’s life and nearly 22 years of service to Fulton County citizens, County Manager Dick Anderson has kicked off a fundraising effort with a $10,000 personal contribution to the Badge of Honor Memorial Foundation.

The Badge of Honor Memorial Foundation is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to assist the survivors of officers who have been killed in the line of duty in obtaining all of the statutory benefits that may be available to them. Fulton County’s Assistant Chief of Police Gary Stiles was a founding member of this organization, and served as the first Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and currently serves as Chairman of the Executive Committee.

Fulton County residents and businesses can contribute to the Badge of Honor Foundation through an online donation to http://www.bohmf.org/donations/. Donations may be dedicated to Detective Terence Green.
