The Fulton County Department of Arts & Culture Celebrates National Dance Week | Print |

The Fulton County Department of Arts & Culture will celebrate the 12th Annual National Dance Week from Monday, April 25, 2011 ‚Äď Saturday, April 30, 2011.  Performances, workshops, and special events, will be held at four of Fulton County‚Äôs neighborhood-based arts centers: Abernathy Arts Center, South Fulton Arts Center, Southwest Arts Center Performance Theater & Gallery, and West End Performing Arts Center. Dance Week events will also be held at Abbotts Hill Elementary School and the Mall at West End in Atlanta. Dance Week events are listed below and all events are free and open to the public.

Thirty-three county agencies agree to accountability

Fulton County and thirty-three local agencies will solidify their agreement to ensure child abuse cases are handled in a professional and thorough manner with great sensitivity towards the needs of the child by signing the Fulton County Child Abuse Protocol on Tuesday, April 26, 2011.  The Fulton County Protocol is designed to protect children who have been or are alleged to be victims of abuse by ensuring that the needs of the child are given priority over system or agency needs.

Fulton County Cooperative Extension Helps the Atlanta Mission to Help Others | Print |

‚ÄúGive a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.‚ÄĚ Fulton County Cooperative Extension believes that if you teach a man to plant vegetables, he will have access to healthy food.¬† On Monday, April 11, 2011, Fulton County Cooperative Extension will teach clients at the Atlanta Mission how to produce food in their raised garden beds. The participants will be involved from the conception of the project to consumption of the produce.

Fulton Health Services Reminds Residents that Safety is No Accident | Print |

From April 4 through the 8 during National Public Health Awareness Week, the Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness joins the American Public Health Association (APHA) to encourage residents to work together to make the county safer and injury-free through the theme, ‚ÄúSafety is No Accident: Live Injury Free.‚ÄĚ The Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness sponsors or participates in community health fairs in the county including sponsoring child-safety seat workshops.
