Technical Services includes Capital Improvement Projects, Design and Construction Engineering for Water & Wastewater, and Project Management.

Technical Services Mission:

The Engineers and Project Managers of this section are responsible for all aspects of public water and wastewater infrastructure improvements and maintenance both in the field and in the office. Whether it is designing plans, rehabilitation and maintenance of existing infrastructure, installing new County maintained sanitary sewer and public water, and planning for the future, our Engineers are involved every step of the way. In addition the Technical Services Section is responsible for records maintenance for all water and wastewater infrastructures in Fulton County.
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Design sewer and water projects
  • Water and Sewer Availability
  • Perform Construction Management work entire life cycle of the project
  • Perform field surveys for future and on going projects
  • Work with the Land Department to obtain needed easements
  • Acquire all necessary permits from respective jurisdiction
  • Review concept plans submitted by private developers
  • Maintain a database for all roadway right-of-ways
  • GDOT utility reviews for encroachment and permits
  • Relocate existing utilities when necessary
  • Maintain records of existing sewer and water location throughout Fulton County, this includes a stub out file showing sewer taps for builder and homeowner information
  • Review and maintain the long range master plan for the water and wastewater conveyance improvement systems
  • Store and maintain permanent records
  • Generate all petitions for utility improvements
  • Maintain hydraulic water model and sewer for the County
  • Diverted Water Program
