Department of Public Works

The Fulton County Department of Public Works' (DPW) mission is to provide for the systematic planning, construction, maintenance and operation of the transportation, water and wastewater infrastructure in Fulton County. The Department seeks to protect the health, safety and welfare of Fulton County's citizens through sound management of the County’s infrastructure, by providing high quality and cost efficient services, and by complying with federal, state, and county regulatory requirements.

The department consists of two major divisions: Water Services and Transportation. The Transportation Division only services unincorporated Fulton County.

Annual Drinking Water Quality Reports
Each year Fulton County prepares and delivers to each water customer a report which presents the analysis of the drinking water provided and other important, pertinent, or interesting information. We are especially happy to be able to report that the quality of our water is excellent, having met or exceeded the standards set by the EPA. See below for the current report.

Storm Drain Inventory

Fulton County is Coming to Your Neighborhood!

If you live in unincorporated south Fulton County, soon you may see workers in your neighborhood surveying storm drains. This is because we are undertaking a major storm drain inventory project starting in March 2010 that will be ongoing for the next two years. The County has retained Woolpert, Inc. to perform this inventory. Woolpert’s surveyors will be identifiable by the markings on their vehicles and all crewmembers will carry Woolpert identification.

2010 Outdoor Watering Schedule
Even though we are no longer in a drought, we all need to conserve water. Fulton County's water source, the Chattahoochee River, is not limitless. We need to make the most efficient use of every gallon we take out of the river. To help guide you in this process, Fulton County Public Works has developed the 2010 Outdoor Watering Schedule. For more tips and helpful information, please visit our Education and Outreach Department's Water Conservation web page.
